چکیده
Abstract This paper describes the methods and results of strong ground motion simulations for three earthquakes from 2016 Kumamoto earthquake sequence using corrected empirical Green’s functions. The target were an aftershock ( M w 5.5), largest foreshock 6.1), mainshock 7.1). function method was used in simulations. simulation combines simple source path factors with site amplification phase to generate realistic site-specific motions. Simulations originally conducted participate blind prediction exercises ESG6. Although performed this study based on models submitted committee, several modifications made after exercise. First, observed records at called KUMA compare synthetic In addition, a regional spectral inversion obtain more appropriate Q- value factor. Synthetic motions found explain other stations. Comparisons predictions by sensitivity rupture scenario also discussed. These provide useful information applying Graphical

Source rupture processes of the 2016 Kumamoto, Japan, earthquakes estimated from strong-motion waveforms
The detailed source rupture process of the M 7.3 event (April 16, 2016, 01:25, JST) of the 2016 Kumamoto, Japan, earthquakes was derived from strong-motion waveforms using multiple-time-window linear waveform inversion. Based on the observations of surface ruptures, the spatial distribution of aftershocks, and the geodetic data, a realistic curved fault model was developed for source-process an...
متن کاملA Strong Ground Motion Catalogue of Selected Records for Shallow Crustal, Near Field Earthquakes in Iran
Understanding strong ground motions in the near-fault areas is important for seismic risk assessment in densely populated areas. In the past, lack of information on strong ground motion for large and moderate earthquakes led to the use of mainly far field large and moderate earthquake records in equations for calculation of the strong ground motion parameters. In this article, we collected and ...
متن کاملSeismicity prior to the 2016 Kumamoto earthquakes
We report precursory seismic patterns prior to the 2016 Kumamoto earthquakes, as measured by four different methods based on changes in seismicity that can be used for earthquake forecasting: the b-value method, two methods of seismic quiescence evaluation, and an analysis of seismicity density in space and time. The spatial extent of precursory patterns differs from one method to the other and...
متن کاملPROPERTIES OF STRONG GROUND MOTION EARTHQUAKES* By
THE USUAL type of California earthquake is associated with a relative horizontal slipping of the two faces of a fault which lies essentially in a vertical plane. As a consequence of this slipping, the surface of the ground experiences a severe motion in the neighborhood of the fault during large earthquakes. This surface ground motion can be measured, and for the relatively small number of stro...

a simple, rapid and low-cost scanner spectroscopy method for the glucose determination by utilizing glucose oxidase and cdte/tga quantum dots as chromoionophore has been described. the detection was based on the combination of the glucose enzymatic reaction and the quenching effect of h2o2 on the cdte quantum dots (qds) photoluminescence.in this study glucose was determined by utilizing glucose...
